Board of Directors

Musana is made up of two boards, the US board and the local Ugandan board. The two boards work closely together but play different roles in the organization.

United States Board of Directors

This board consists of 11 experienced and passionate individuals located in the United States. The US Board is responsible for all financial decision making of the organization. The main purpose of this board is to provide financial support to Musana Children's Home in Uganda, meaning they must approve and raise the operations budget created by the Executive Director and the local board.

Board Officers
  • Pat Pauline (President)
    Pat was born and raised in Madison Wisconsin. She has worked as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor for 31 years. This work involves assisting individuals with physical and or mental impairments to identify and successfully obtain employment within their functional capabilities. Her professional licensing has included: CRCC (Certified Rehabilitation Counselor), ABVE (American Board of Vocational Counselors), NCC (Nationally Certified Counselor) & CIRS (Certifified Insurance Rehabilitation Counselor). Currently she works for the Social Security Administration as a Vocational Expert in the Office of Disability Adjudication and Review. Pat obtained a bachelors degree in Education from the University of Wisconsin in 1976 and a masters in Special Education and Rehabilitation Psychology from the University of Wisconsin in 1978. She moved to Colorado in 1981 and married Geno Pauline in 1983. They have four daughters. Her previous board of directors experience was with Providence Network , Open Door Ministries, and Victory Ventures, all Denver based non-profits.
  • Keith Meagher (Vice President)
    Keith retired in 1999 from the State of Colorado. He served as Chief-of-Staff, Colorado Division of Motor Vehicles. He has a B A degree in History from Colorado State College and has worked on his Masters in History at the University of Denver. He and his wife Margaret "Peg" Meagher were married in 1969 and they have one grown son Kevin Meagher. He has a broad base of Governing Board experience, including Habit for Humanity of Metro Denver, project coordination committee from 1996-2000, Park Hill Congregational Church, Committee for Outreach and Social Justice from 2002-2004, Park Hill Congregational Church, Board of Trustees, from 2005-2007, University of Denver, Viva program, President, Board of Directors in 2002, Academy of Lifelong Learning, President, Board of Directors from 2003-2006, and Academy of Lifelong Learning, Member, Board of Directors from 2006-2008.
  • Leslie Boyle (Treasurer/Finance Committee)
    Leslie practices energy project development and finance law at Holland & Hart, a Denver-based full service law firm. Prior to beginning her career in law, Leslie served in AmeriCorp as a reading tutor and volunteer coordinator on Fort Lewis Army Base in Washington. Leslie has a B.A. in Economics from Rice University and she recieved her J.D. at Georgetown University Law Center. Leslie has served on the boards of Coloradans for Alternatives to the Death Penalty and Assisted Cycling Tours and currently volunteers as a big sister through Big Brothers Big Sisters.
  • Michael Koehn (Assistant Treasurer/Finance Committee)
    Michael is the Chief Financial Officer of Flatirons Community Church in Lafayette, CO. Flatirons is the largest church in Colorado with approximately 15,000 people attending on any given weekend. Michael has extensive experience in financial matters, working for Arthur Andersen for nine years as well as other financial capacities for publicly traded companies. Michael graduated with his accounting degree from Baylor University and also has an MBA from the University of Texas at Austin. Michael loves the Lord and his family. He and his wife Stephanie have three beautiful children.
  • Liliane Antoniutti Brantes, DDS (Secretary/Personnel & Compensation Committee)
    Liliane is originally from Brazil. She first game to the US as a high school exchange student. Since 1985, Liliane and her husband Peter Alan Vanicek DDS, have had their own dental practice at 6979 South Holly Circle, Centennial, Colorado 80112. They were married in 1984 and have two sons, Alex Brantes Vanicek 1987 and Anthony Brantes Vanicek 1991. Liliane attended Texas Tech University and received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Microbiology in 1976 and received her DDS from Baylor College of Dentistry in Dallas Texas, in 1984.

  • Geno Pauline
    Geno is a retired healthcare and higher education administrator. He worked with the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center as an Associate Vice-Chancellor for Facilities and Business Services (17 years). He also worked with the Denver Water Department (8 years) as a capital planner, fiscal control officer, and water sales administrator and with Inner-city Community Development Corporation (8 years) as a project manager. He has also worked as a part-time instructor of Economics at the University of Colorado. In addition to serving as a volunteer treasurer of Musana, he is a volunteer driver and Board Member of Town of Littleton Cares, Inc., dba, TLC Meals on Wheels, a volunteer service representative of Littleton Adventist Hospital, and a volunteer service ambassador with Kaiser Permanente. He has a B.A. in Economics from Youngstown State University in 1967 and an M.A. in Economics from West Virginia University in 1971. Geno and his wife Pat were married in 1983 and have 4 daughters, Theresa (25), Andrea (21), Leah (20) and Jenna (18).
  • Debbie McGraw (Board Development Committee/Volunteer Liaison)
    After graduating with a BS in Marketing from the University of Oregon in 1981, joined Emporium Capwell in San Francisco in their management training program. Before being transferred to Denver because of my husband's career, was the buyer of Men's Shoes and Athletics approximately a $12 million dollar department. We have been married for 29 years, have lived in Denver for 25 years and have 3 boys.

    -served on leadership for Community Bible Study (CBS) Littleton East for 10 years
    -served on a variety of fundraising committees with organizations including St Joseph's Foundation, Providence Network, Junior League of Denver
  • Diane Leede (Board Development Committee/Fundraising Liaison)
    Diane attended Texas Tech University where she received a B.A. in Business. Her Professional experience is quite broad; Diane has worked for a number of private businesses as well as larger companies in both accounting and sales. Over the years she has served with a number of boards including: The Spot/Urban Peak (1995-2005) assisting with fundraising and development, Rocky Mountain Children's Law Center (2002-2009) in fundraising and staff development, Board of Directors for Musana Children's Home (2010-present) helping with fundraising and marketing development, and Parent Council President of Cherry Hills Christian Middle School (2010-2011). Diane also actively participates in her church, Greenwood Community Church as a member of the Care Council Board, Funeral Committee and Women's Council Board.
  • Stew Pirnack (Finance Committee/Capital Project & Construction Liaison )
    "I've worked in the Denver area since 1981 in the Commercial General Construction Industry. In 1999 I started my own General Contracting and Real Estate development company. Our scope of work included working with Schools, Churches, Medical Facilities and various other project types. We also developed 10 acres of raw land in Golden and turned it into the Blue Mountain Ranch residential community. Two years ago I sold the majority interest in my company and semi retired. I serve on the Musana Board to support Andrea in helping the children. Most of my input has been in my comfort zone of business, construction and land development."
  • Kim Clark (Personnel & Compensation Committee/Craft Liaison)
    Kim was born and raised in Denver . Her education includes a BFA from the University of Denver , and a MA from the University of Colorado , and an AA from Interior Design Internship. Right after graduation, Kim worked with the Smithsonian Institute in both Washington D.C. and Boston on historic restoration projects grants until 1980, when she moved back to Denver . She worked with Skidmore, Owings, and Merrill Architectural Firm until she married her husband Chris in 1987.Kim and her husband Chris have three children, two daughters and a son. Kim has been involved coaching girls lacrosse for the Panthers Organization and coached for 14 years in the Littleton Program. She had the pleasure of coaching her girls until they reached their high school years. Kim has been involved with the Heritage/Littleton Girls Lacrosse Team for nine years, serving on the Board in various positions and for the past two years has served as its President. Kim has been involved in various non-profit organizations in Denver and elsewhere for many years. She was one of the Colorado Directors of The National Museum for Women in the Arts, in Washington D.C. She has been involved with UNICEF, volunteered f or "Bead For Life", here and in Uganda, was the Interim Director of Development for Tumaini Ministries, an orphanage in Nairobi, Kenya, rebuilt homes in Ojo Caliente Peru, and has done design work for the Lakota Sioux in Pine Ridge, South Dakota.

Local Board of Directors

Because Musana is in Uganda, we feel that it is essential to have a local board to oversee and plan for the operations on ground. The local board is a group of individuals that live in Uganda and are passionate about community development.
