Children's Home (Musana owns 18.5 acres of school/housing land)
Over 80 children live at Musana Children's Home and are provided shelter, three meals a day, clothing, education, spiritual guidance, and most importantly, love and care. Over the past few years we have learned how important it is for the kids to grow up knowing their cultures, and if possible, their relatives. Because of this we insist that if our children have living relatives they spend time in the village with them at least a few weeks a year. For the children that do not have living relatives, staff members, our housemothers, and families in the community, offer to bring the children into their families. As much as we desire Musana to be a loving home, an orphanage will never be the same as growing up knowing a real family and having a village they belong in and are welcomed in.

Nursery and Primary School
The 80 children living at Musana plus 120 children from the community are educated at Musana's registered Nursery and Primary School. There are 10 full time qualified Ugandan teachers that are led by an experienced Ugandan headmaster. The school follows the national Ugandan curriculum but has additional classes that focus on creativity, problem solving, and leadership. The children take part in many extra curricular activities like track and field, football (soccer), volleyball, music, and drama. The past two years Musana’s volleyball team has placed first in the district and competed in the national tournament. This past year the team was fourth in the country! The school has a fully furnished classroom for each grade, a soccer field, an art room, a small playground, a main hall, a dining hall, and a brand new library!

Community Church
Musana has a community church and began weekend services in April, 2011. The church is non denominational and is focused on teaching the children and community about God’s love and purpose for their lives. Our desire for the church is to bring hope and light to a community that has only seen despair and darkness. We do not want to be preachers but we want to be doers. Once a month the children and church community use the money collected during offering to show God’s love to an individual or family in need. This can be buying necessary household items, building a new roof, providing medical treatment, and much more. The children also devote the entire day to serving the individual or family through work such as gardening, cleaning, or childcare. We call this Ripple Sunday.

Secondary School Sponsorship
Seventeen of Musana's children are now going to a local boarding secondary school. Their school fees and living expenses are fully sponsored and on holidays the students return to spend time with their brothers and sisters at Musana.

Small Business Loans
In February 2012, we began a small enterprise development project for the women in the communities we serve. The mission of the project is to empower women by enabling them to generate income through small businesses that will help provide for them and their families. Some of these business ideas include retail shops, saloons, brick making, tailoring, stone quarelling, delivering milk, and making donuts. I attached a picture that I think would go well with it. So far we have given out loans to three women that are in the process of becoming independent and successful enterpreneurs!
